Three generations of the scheufele family designed chopard's 'alpine eagle' after rediscovering a vintage edition of the house's 'st. Moritz' sports watch, its functionality informs this flyback chronograph. The trio of counters and tachymeter function, which are engineered into a cosc-certified movement, are highlighted across the sunburst dial that mimics an eagle's eye. That's where the second inspiration comes in: memories of spotting rare birds of prey across the mountains neighbouring the swiss workshop. The second hand is fluted like a feather, while the crown is engraved with a compass rose. The effect is strikingly pronounced through the use of proprietary lucent steel, an alloy 50% harder than stainless steel that reflects light sharply.
